UPS recently announced that it will launch its largest service expansion since it entered the Russian market in 1989. UPS currently provides express delivery services covering nearly 600 postcode areas in all major cities in Russia. Since July 1, all postcode areas in Russia will be included in the service scope of UPS.

 

Harold Peters, President of UPS China, said: "According to the statistics of the Ministry of Commerce of China, bilateral trade between China and Russia reached 100 billion US dollars in 2018, and China has become Russia's largest trading partner. UPS service upgrading in Russia will provide new business growth opportunities for Chinese enterprises exporting industrial machinery, electronic equipment and clothing to Russia. When exported to this big country spanning 11 time zones in Eurasia, UPS customers can enjoy reliable and high-quality services.

 

At present, UPS provides two kinds of express service in seven cities, namely, Kazan, Lower Novgorod, Moscow, New Siberia, Bilm, St. Petersburg and Ufa. The service includes UPS Global Express, which is delivered before 12:00 noon or 2:00 p.m. and UPS Global Express? Saver, before the end of the working day.

 

In addition to adding express service options, UPS also optimizes services across Russia. Since July 1, UPS logistics services will cover all postcode areas in the Russian Federation. No matter how remote the customers are, enterprises of different sizes can timely deliver goods to customers by UPS reliable and comprehensive logistics network.

 

UPS shortened the transit time of goods from Moscow to Kazan, New Rosick, Omsk, Cherny and Samara on the Kama River. In Siberia, the speed of cargo transportation between New Siberia and Omsk, Kmerovo, Krasnoyarsk and New Kuznetsk has also been increased. Customers in industrial manufacturing, retail and high-tech industries in the region can enjoy UPS logistics delivery services up to one day, thus better controlling the supply chain and improving flexibility.

 

In 2019, UPS invested $2 billion to improve European logistics networks and infrastructure, and this service upgrade is part of that. Other recent investments include previously announced new facilities in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, two large transit centres in London and Paris, and a new operation facility at Vonukovo Airport in 2015.

 

It is understood that UPS entered the Russian market in 1989 and currently has 15 operating facilities in Russia. Through the air port at Vonukovo Airport, various types of enterprise customers are closely linked with UPS's global intelligent logistics network.
